Maya, a student at the school, was airlifted to Vancouver Children’s Hospital with life-threatening injuries after being shot in the head and neck. Her mother, Cia Edmonds, shared an emotional update from the hospital, saying her daughter is still fighting for her life.
“Today started like any other,” Edmonds wrote. “Now my 12-year-old daughter is battling to survive while doctors try to repair the damage from gunshot wounds. Please pray for my baby.” Despite the severity of her injuries, Maya has shown signs of strength, giving her family hope during an incredibly painful time.
