Scottish actress Claire Nielson, best remembered for her role in the classic comedy series Fawlty Towers, has passed away at the age of 89. Born Claire Elizabeth Isbister in Glasgow in 1937, Nielson developed a passion for performance at a young age after attending a ballet. Her early dedication to acting helped shape a career that would grow steadily throughout the 1960s and 1970s, with appearances in well-known programs such as The Two Ronnies, The Dick Emery Show, Z-Cars, and Ghost Squad. She also appeared in the 1971 film Kidnapped, starring alongside Michael Caine.
