Authorities conduct late-night search of Annie Guthrie’s home as hunt for Nancy Guthrie enters day seven

Authorities intensified their investigation into the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie by conducting a late-night search of her daughter Annie Guthrie’s Tucson, Arizona, home. The search took place Saturday and lasted until around 10:30 p.m. local time, marking day seven of the ongoing case. Law enforcement activity drew attention as the investigation appeared to expand.

According to reports, officers were seen photographing the property, and one agent carried a silver briefcase into the residence. It remains unclear whether Annie Guthrie or her husband, Tommaso Cioni, were inside at the time. The Pima County Sheriff’s Department did not immediately comment on the purpose or outcome of the search.

The renewed activity came as Savannah Guthrie and her siblings released an emotional video offering to pay a ransom for their mother’s safe return. In the message, Savannah said the family had received communication and pleaded for Nancy to be returned. The appeal drew public attention, though a former CIA officer later described the wording as potentially “contrived.”

Earlier that same day, investigators seized a vehicle, a camera, and a floodlight from Nancy Guthrie’s home as they searched for additional evidence. Authorities previously confirmed that the home is considered a crime scene after blood belonging to Nancy was found on the porch. Police believe she was abducted from her home during the night.

Nancy Guthrie, 84, was last seen on January 31 after having dinner with Annie and her husband, who dropped her off at her home around 9:30 p.m. The family contacted authorities the following morning when she failed to attend church. Savannah Guthrie subsequently traveled to Arizona to be with her family.

Investigators have confirmed the existence of multiple ransom notes but have not identified any suspects or persons of interest. Police say they are examining all possibilities and encourage tips from the public. The FBI has announced a $50,000 reward for information that could help locate Nancy and bring her home safely.
